Pep reveals he won’t take on any other club job once he leaves Man City, except for the national team
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has told celebrity chef Dani Garcia on Garcia’s YouTube channel that City will be his last club manager and that if he takes on another job, it will likely be with a national team
The Spanish coach has been in coaching since 2007, starting out in charge of Barcelona’s youth system before moving up to the first team in 2008, where he spent four years before moving to Bayern Munich from 2013 to 2016, before taking over as manager of Manchester City in 2016 and winning 15 trophies, including six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League.
He was approached over the summer to take charge of the England national team but turned it down, and only signed a new contract at City last month until 2027, with his current deal due to expire at the end of this season
However, City have only won one of their nine games since late October, a win over Nottingham Forest in midweek.
Pep said that he has not thought about when he will retire from Manchester City, but whenever he stops managing City, he thinks he will not manage any club team again, whether in the Premier League or abroad, because he will not have the energy to move anywhere else. He just thinks he has to start somewhere, starting from training and many other things. He will not do that anymore. Maybe manage the national team, but that is a different situation. He wants to stop working and take a break from golf, which he would not be able to do if he continued to manage the ยูฟ่าเบท club team. Therefore, retiring would be a good choice.
